Over Labor Day weekend, September 3–6, 2026, attorney Shenqi (Cassie) Cai and the Lingtu Law team traveled to Las Vegas for CAALA Vegas 2026, the annual convention of the Consumer Attorneys Association of Los Angeles (CAALA).
CAALA's members are mostly plaintiff-side attorneys who represent individuals, and personal injury litigation is a central topic at the convention. Over four days, attorneys from firms across the country attend sessions, compare notes, and get to know one another.

What we went to learn
The team spent most of its time in the personal injury sessions, hearing experienced trial attorneys walk through practical questions: how to evaluate a case at intake, how far to take evidence preparation early, how to move negotiations forward, and when a case should go to litigation. Much of it maps directly onto the auto accident and injury matters the firm is handling now.

Talking cases with colleagues
Outside the sessions, the team met attorneys from other firms at networking events and talked through case handling, trial strategy, and the day-to-day realities of practice.

"Lawyers can't just keep their heads down on their own files," Attorney Cai said. "We need to get out, talk with colleagues, and hear different approaches. A lot of new ideas come out of exactly those conversations."

The team is bringing a lot of what it heard back to the office and will put it to work on the cases ahead.
