Approved with a Canadian degree
Background
Z studied biomedical engineering and bioengineering at both the bachelor's and master's levels, closely matching the position. The bachelor's degree was earned in Canada, which makes it a foreign degree.
Challenges
A non-U.S. degree must go through a credential evaluation; otherwise USCIS will not recognize it by default, no matter how well known the school is.
Strategy
We immediately secured the foreign credential evaluation for the Canadian bachelor's degree and systematically mapped both degrees' coursework to the duties of the position.
Outcome
Filed with premium processing and approved without RFE (filed 06/12/2026 · approved 07/06/2026).
