Smart advertising venture recognized
Background
Ms. W earned her bachelor's and master's degrees in computer science in the United Kingdom. She worked as a software engineer at a major tech company and as a senior executive at a large company in China, then started her own business in smart advertising for short-video MCNs and entered the United States on an L-1 visa.
Challenges
The L-1 was not a long-term solution, and EB-1C sets high requirements for company size and multinational operations. She needed a long-term pathway that did not depend on employment by her company.
Strategy
We laid out her full trajectory from software engineer to executive to entrepreneur, highlighting her combined technical and management strengths, and argued her contribution to the national interest around the market potential and job creation of her smart advertising venture.
Outcome
NIW approved, freeing her from dependence on company size and employer sponsorship.
