AR/VR teaching innovation
Background
C holds a PhD in dance performance. She focused on stage performance early in her career and later moved into choreography and teaching. Her NIW was filed just as USCIS was tightening its review of arts petitions.
Challenges
Dance is a form of cultural soft power, and USCIS had raised its standards for "national interest" and "feasibility." Proving her specific contributions was the biggest challenge.
Strategy
We highlighted her innovative work integrating AR and VR technology into dance teaching and creation to make education more interactive, and used her international project experience to show that her teaching plan could be carried out in the United States and advance cultural exchange. At the same time, we updated the materials to meet new requirements, including the latest version of Form 9089.
Outcome
NIW approved.
