Success Stories/Immigration/O-1 Extraordinary Ability Visa/Interior Designer: Approved After Two RFEs
Two RFEs

Approved

Interior Designer

Background

An interior designer who, pressed for time during OPT, enrolled in an MBA program's CPT. On the first O-1 filing, USCIS questioned whether the CPT work was related to design and issued the first RFE. On the second filing, a different officer raised new questions about award credit and team membership.

Challenges

The two RFEs targeted different issues, so we had to decide which officer's line of review to pursue.

Strategy

After assessing the situation, we decided to focus on responding to the first officer's RFE. We explained in detail that interior design work itself includes stages such as early-stage negotiation, project management, content production, and final delivery, showing that the CPT work was closely related to the design field.

Outcome

O-1 approved with no further RFE.
