Smooth reentry after reinstatement

Two rounds of entry training

Four School Transfers + a Terminated I-20

Background

A student transferred schools and changed majors four times in one year. Because the student did not keep attending classes, the school terminated the I-20 and student status lapsed.

Challenges

We had to argue to USCIS that the lapse was "beyond the student's control," even though it was clearly caused by the student's own absences.

Strategy

Professional guidance and intensive preparation helped persuade the officer. After approval, we ran two rounds of training for the port-of-entry inspection.

Outcome

The reinstatement was approved, and the student later reentered the United States without being questioned by customs (filed 03/09/2024 · approved 08/12/2024).
